Please can we remind all parents/carers to make sure your child has their full PE kit in school at ALL times. P.E. Kits should be taken home at the end of each half term for washing and returned to school on the first day back. Can we also remind parents that the PE kit is part of our school uniform, and as such children should be wearing the correct clothes. Please see below for when PE takes place each week.

Letters went home at the end of last term with our Year 3 children.
Every Friday, Year 3 will be sending home a 5 minute comprehension task. Please allow your child 5 minutes to complete these tasks. The children do not need to write an answer, simply highlight, circle or underline to show their answer.
On Monday mornings, staff will be going through these cards and any child who returns their completed card will receive 5 dojos.
Year 4 had their ‘Roman Day’ this week. A guide dressed as a Roman came to teach the children about life in Roman times.
The children were shown replica Roman artefacts and took part in curriculum relevant role play. Some of the children came to school dressed for the occasion!
As part of School Safety week, on Tuesday 14th January, Years 5 & 6 will be undertaking CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation) training. CPR helps keep blood and oxygen flowing and dramatically increases the chances of survival in those who suffer a cardiac arrest. The session will be appropriately targeted at Year 5 and 6 children and children will have the chance to practise on a mannequin, if you have any concerns, please contact your child’s class teacher.
After School Clubs letters have been sent out. After School Clubs start week commencing 13.01.20 and are as follows:
Tuesdays: Multi sports (Year 5 & 6)
Thursdays: Netball/Handball (Year 3 & 4)
Fridays: Dance/Gym (Year 1 & 2)
Cost of the sessions are £10, places are limited and are based on a fist come first serve basis. Your child will only be allocated a place if the permission slip and full payment is made.
Thank you to all the parents & carers who attended our Christmas sing-along today, and to all our musicians for playing beautifully! Special thanks also to Rochdale Music Service for coming along and playing for us!
Please may we remind all parents of reception age children (Sept 2020) to make sure you apply for your child’s school place online asap. The closing date for admissions is 15th January 2020. Please see Rochdale Council website School Admissions.
Well done to our Year 5 & 6 children who took part in a Badminton match after school on Thursday with Bowlee Park Primary School. They played extremely well and enjoyed playing against another school.
