As you will be aware we have a new variant of Covid 19 that is rapidly spreading throughout our school community. Please can we advise that all parents read the up to date information that is sent out via email and understand any new procedures we have in place regarding testing, positive contacts and isolation.
We also require that a facemask or covering is worn in ALL places around school, including the playground, when dropping off and collecting from school.
We would also like to ask that parents only enter the school building when absolutely necessary and that only 3 families are in the foyer at any one time and you must wait outside if the foyer is full.
All Covid 19 results now need to be registered on the government website:
www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result
and also to the school office at;
office@marlandhill.rochdale.sch.uk
The children in Early Years have been working hard in Phonics. They have been writing out their sounds, and have been practising their sounds out loud. Fantastic work everyone!

In Reception this week we have been learning all about New Year and how this symbolises the start of a new calendar year. We discussed how the children will experience another birthday and school year. We have spent a lot of time learning about and reflecting on New Years Resolutions and the children have thought about something they'd like to be better at this year and came up with some fantastic ideas such as, riding a bike, phonics, handwriting, swimming and football. We've also looked at ways in which New Year is celebrated and the children were very excited to take part in a New Year countdown.
In Year 3’s Ancient Egypt Topic the children have been learning all about the pyramids and tombs that were used for the Pharaohs.
