Children are to come in their school uniform as normal. Children will have their lunch there and a grab bag will be provided for children who usually have a school dinner on the day. Staff at the hall have a severe nut allergy so no nuts are allowed on the premises.

Please go to parent mail and complete the consent form (found in the forms section) and please pay for the voluntary contribution (payments/then shop).

The cost of the visit is heavily subsided by school. We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £3, which is to be paid on Parent Mail by going to payments/shop. Please complete the consent form on Parent Mail, which can be found in the forms section.

The children had a great time during our visit to Smithills Open Farm on Monday. They enjoyed riding on the donkeys and travelling up the hill on the back of the tractor. At the top of the hill they got to feed the donkeys some bread. The sheep in the barn were very greedy and the children had lots of fun feeding them. They saw lots of baby and adult animals and got to pet and hold some animals in the petting area.
The children said that the rabbits and chicks were very soft. Before setting off back to school they got to see a milking demonstration. The cows were very well behaved. Farmer Carl explained how the cows get milked and showed the children the pipes where the milk goes to get processed. He also told us that the milk we get in school sometimes comes from Smithills Dairy. All in all, everyone had a lovely day and was very tired by the end of the trip.
