Letter from Headteacher regarding Covid Guidelines

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to you in the unfortunate circumstance that some families are still not following the Government guidance for Covid 19. Please can I ask that all parents work with each other and with school to ensure that this does not continue to happen.  We are nearly 12 months into the global pandemic.  Therefore can I please remind you of the vital information that can ensure that we don’t have to close any more year group bubbles:

Pupils should self-isolate and not come to school if they:

  • Have Covid-19 symptoms or have tested positive
  • Live with someone who has symptoms or has tested positive
  • Are a close contact of someone who has tested positive
  • Have returned to the country and are in a period of 10 day quarantine

Covid 19 Symptoms – any ONE or all of these symptoms

  • High temperature: any new high temperature where your child feels hot to touch on their chest or back
  • A new continuous cough: coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours
  • A loss of, or change in, sense of smell or taste

Lateral Flow Tests

These tests (which can be carried out at home) should ONLY be used on individuals who have no symptoms (asymptomatic) of Covid 19.  If an individual has any of the symptoms of Covid 19 then a test should be booked at an official test site.  If your child is sent home from school with symptoms of Covid 19, a test should be booked via the gov.uk website or by telephoning 119.

Stay at Home guidance – current Government advice

  • Coronavirus (Covid 19) remains a serious threat across the country.
  • Do not leave your home unless necessary.
  • 1 in 3 people who have the virus have no symptoms, so you could be spreading it without knowing it.
  •

I am sure you are as keen as all our staff and pupils are for children to be in school as much as possible to catch up on all the learning that has been missed.

Thank you to those parents who are doing their best to follow guidance.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Pridgeon
