Before the half term, Rochdale's MP Paul Waugh announced an exciting competition for World Book Day. The children needed to think of their favourite book and write an engaging book report on why they like their book so much. We spent lots of time brainstorming ideas to try and hook the reader into our reports, discussing which characters from our stories we resonated with and how the book made us feel. As a result of this, Year 5 produced some fantastic book reports which were sent off to be judged. Out of all the Year 5 classes in Rochdale that took part, Adam Sarwar was crowned runner up with Hawwa Siddique scoring a special mention from the MP. On top of this, if our MP gets called upon in the House of Commons, he has made a promise to mention both Adam and Hawwa by name! This is an amazing achievement and we are so proud of our winners as well as the whole of Year 5 for their hard work and dedication to this competition. Well done Adam and Hawwa!
